Because a graphic t-shirt is a statement. It either has something written on it that catches the Pittsburgh Steelers Youth Divide T-shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this eye of passers-by or it has a logo or picture that interests the wearer. It’s sort of like a bit of a billboard into part of your psyche without having to tell everybody, “Hey! XXX is my favorite band (or restaurant or artist, or politician, etc.)” I don’t know if I consider these ‘great’, but they’re t-shirts that caught my attention once and I’ve never forgotten them: It’s an example of the recent fad of having ironic, literal, sarcastic, or otherwise snarky statements on clothing. The Army soon began to use them, and working men like Dock Workers would use them to beat the heat when working in the hot sun. By the 1930’s they were a popular item for little boys to wear. Marlin Brandon made the white T-Shirt with the sleeves rolled up famous in the Movie a Street Car Called Desire. It is a personal preference, although I prefer to have them on the front because if you have a design on the back of your shirt and wear a zip-up sweater or have very long hair you can’t see the design.
